NHS staff who have recently stepped down from key jobs, and university senior leaders head up the list of people living in Scotland recognised in the King’s New Year honours list for their work in health, social care and life sciences. They are joined by several people leading Scottish voluntary sector health organisations.

This year also sees a number of frontline doctors and nurses recognised, alongside entrepreneurs and volunteers.

Those honoured for their work and volunteering in health, social care and life sciences, who live in Scotland and whose citation makes specific mention of health, care or life sciences, are:
